playing "molecule"

Inga likes to play molecules. In these pictures, she is pointing out that the twist boat conformation of 1-tertbutyl-3,5-dimethyl cyclohexane she has constructed has significant stereo hindrance, and is unlikely to form in real life. If you look closely, you may notice that she is stuffing extra atoms and bonds into her pocket with her right hand while holding up the molecule with her left. She is planning to "fix" this molecule as soon as I turn away.

Mary was kind enough to show this to me (the former chemist in her office) and I LOVE IT! Well done, cute and hilarious.....maybe next you can teach her the chair conformation..... :)
